Together with the team of Visit Örebro, I had an amazing weekend at one of Sweden's most lovely cities! And I wanted to share with you all my best tips about this city and why you should add it to your must-visit list for a weekend trip all year long.

Important facts first: Örebro is a beautiful town in the very heart of Sweden. The population of 150,000 makes it the sixth largest town in the country. The city it's easy reached by train from the capital Stockholm (1h30 by train / about 200km) and 300km from Gotherburg or Oslo.

Örebro is the Town of Cycling in Sweden. Cycling in Örebro is easy. There are a lot of cycle lanes and in several places it is possible to hire a low cost municipal bike. You will by some point hear about the castle in Örebro, a very interesting tourist attraction, which dates back to the 13th century.

So let's break down everything you can't miss during your stay.

Where to stay:

Elite Hotel Örebro

Definitely the best view of the castle, lovely staff and amazing facilities as gym, SPA and two restaurants!

The perfect room-office!

Always bringing my skin care routine with me, highly recommend the skin roller from Swiss Clinic. USE CODE LUANA20 to get 20% off, using this link.

You can't miss to have a breakfast with this view!

What to do:

Take a walk and discover the city by foot (or by bike if you want to feel like a local!), there is so many cute houses and things to see, so just find your own path and get lost (or no, the city it's pretty small and you will always find your way back!).

Visit Gustavsvik Resort:

(if you are feeling like swimming! - also a great option if you're traveling with kids), is a major recreational facility in the town of Örebro which was built in 1963 and it includes the largest water park in Northern Europe. Gustavsvik is one of Sweden’s most visited tourist and leisure facilities. It is an all year round facility with over 700,000 guests visiting every year.

EAT!

If you need tips:

Frimis Salongen:

Please try their caviar pizza if you like caviar, I just liked it so much! There is many options of food and the vibes here are a mix of fancy & chill.

Bishops Arms

Good food for a good price if you are looking for dinner options and a pub atmosphere! The staff was really friendly!

Paolo's

I really liked the Italian vibes here! Make sure you stop by for drink and stay for dinner if you would like to.

My best recommendation is: you should spend 2 days in Örebro and then visit Blå Bergen, because you can't visit to Örebro without visiting this amazing hidden gem. I will tell you more on my next post. :)

With love,

Lulu.
